BABS Art Gallery is pleased to announce the exhibition “FROM OUR ARCHIVE,” open from June 20 to September 20, 2024.

The exhibition aims to present to the public part of the gallery’s collection, showcasing some of the most significant jewels from its historical archive alongside the most representative pieces created in collaboration with contemporary artists.
The exhibition seeks to trace the two strands that have characterized the gallery’s activity since its inception: valuing the jewels designed and crafted by great masters of the 20th century on one hand, continuing the great tradition of editor of artist jewelry on the other. The primary objective of the gallery is indeed to commission carefully selected contemporary artists to design jewelry and accompany them in the process of creating small wearable sculptures: unique pieces or limited series that transfer the poetic and stylistic signature of the artist into a new dimension, that of the body.

In “FROM OUR ARCHIVE,” among the iconic shots of Ugo Mulas, which masterfully capture the jewels of Pietro Consagra, Lucio Fontana, Man Ray, and many others, are exhibited necklaces, earrings, and rings by Giò and Arnaldo Pomodoro, Chiara Dynys, Giorgio Facchini, Piero Gilardi, Arman, GianCarlo Montebello, Sophia Vari, Loris Cecchini, Alex Pinna, and Elizabeth Aro.
